Share Your Accomplishments

Welcome. Today, the National Senior Games Association (NSGA) is expanding its social media prescience by launching this blog as well as establishing NSGA sites on Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

We hope you will use these tools to connect with one another, including sharing photos, training tips, travel information, etc.

Since its inception, Senior Games athletes have redefined aging. You’ve shown that you can continue to be an athlete with great vitality, drive and purpose, regardless of your age. You are redefining the Internet, too. In fact, 96 percent of this year’s Summer Games participants registered for the Games online.

To put it another way, neither athletics nor the Internet are the exclusive domain of the younger set.

We will administer these sites, but they really belong to you. Please visit them often, and share your experiences, including your accomplishments and frustrations. Others will benefit from your knowledge.

We look forward to seeing how social media evolves at the games in Palo Alto. Perhaps, you’ll want to upload pictures of your triumphs at one of our sponsor booths for loved ones to see back home. Or maybe you’ll “tweet” your latest time or score in real time from your cell phone. The possibilities are endless.

Long Live the Challenge,
Phil Godfey
